Dear Parents and Friends,
Our small study groups in support of online/hybrid learning have commenced well this week. Students of Kemang Campus were excited as they arrived for classes and it was great to see some student activity on campus, even if that activity was limited by our COVID-safe protocols. It was far quieter on Pejaten Campus as some students opted to delay their start to small study groups until next week given this past week has been dominated by exams/assessments. We certainly look forward to welcoming them back to campus.
Parents of Kemang students are reminded to ensure that the online Health Screening Form is completed (after 6:00 AM and before your child arrives for classes) for each student each day. Your support of our protocols is very much appreciated and helps to keep all staff and students healthy and safe. High school students will generally complete this form for themselves.
The DAILY online Health Screening Form can be found here, or by scanning this QR Code.
Should you wish for your son/daughter to join these study groups, please contact Ms. Caroline (kemang@ais-indonesia.com) or Ms. Selvi (pejaten@ais-indonesia.com).
We are slowly packing up resources on the Kemang Campus and will be moving them to the Pejaten campus multi-court as we prepare for the opening of our new campus in January 2021. Of course, opening for face-to-face lessons is dependent on government procedures and permissions, and we are following up to ensure that we comply with all requirements. We will keep the community informed as we get further information. The new campus continues to progress well and carpets and other floor coverings are going down in some of the spaces. We will share some new photos of the campus in the next addition of Bytes and following our tour of the building site next week.
Again, we would like to reiterate to parents, that even once we do reopen for face-to-face classes, we are likely to have families who are unable to return to Jakarta at present, or for personal reasons are unable to send their children to campus. For the children of these families we will continue to provide a hybrid model of learning – both online and face-to-face learning opportunities for all students. We will constantly review this programme throughout 2021; however, we expect such arrangements to continue for at least Semester 1.
Finally, you may have seen some media reports about a possible National Holiday on Wednesday 9th December, in light of regional elections. We are awaiting official government advice, as some reports indicate this will only impact regions that are holding elections. We will let you know should we receive such advice.
We wish you a wonderful weekend ahead.
Warm regards,
Ms. Jodi and Mr. Henri
